Killer sound from the s970

I have a strange challenge: I found a killer 3 voice combination by analyzing an intro style pattern. With that I mean 3 voices that was heard together simultaniously, but in the style pattern mode. I would love to have it as a voice when playing "live". Is it possible to combine more than...

Re: Playing PSR s970 patches from a Roland AX-7 keytar

Case solved. It turned out to be the keyboard that had the solution. I had to turn it from "All Parts" to "MIDI Accord1", and it all worked. Now I play all my favorite Yamaha sounds just using my keytar. Midi.jpeg However, it is not always practical to be in this mode - so it wou...

Roland AX-7 vs. Roland AX-09 Lucina keytar posibilities

I can play different Yamaha PSR s970 preset voices only by using my Roland Ax-7 keytar trough MSB/LSB/Program change messanges stored in different patch select buttons. Is it possible for the Roland AX-09 Lucina keytar to do the same thing? I know it trigger/play the s970's GM voices, so I was hopin...

Re: Midi message for changing bank - and some frustration

I have not succeeded in the second way doing this. I guess this is the best and most comfortable way doing it, since it is possible to change bank and choose a specific (named) voice from the hardware synth just by sitting in the studio chair. What have I done wrong here? I guess this do not work be...

Re: Midi message for changing bank - and some frustration

I really see I have a lot to dig into. I am still reading my way up - Johns Midi-tutor was really a great advice and a nice place to start, thank you. Always nice when people use their pedagogy skills when explaining. However, maybe some people will look at this in the future in their search for sol...

Re: Playing PSR s970 patches from a Roland AX-7 keytar

Thanks SeaGtGruff. I see that much of this make sense in this case, and is absolutely something to consider when setting this up. In the first case however, I know I have typed in the right MSB/LSB number, because I have tried it with so many other sound. Especially I started with more unusual voice...

Re: Midi message for changing bank - and some frustration

Looks good to me! As far as how to "make" a tick in a DAW, the events are usually displayed with the MIDI times ("delta times" since they indicate the amount of time to wait from one event to the next) conveniently converted into bars-beats-ticks notation. For instance, if a DAW...

Re: Playing PSR s970 patches from a Roland AX-7 keytar

By the way, my Roland AX-09 Lucina keytar play all my Yamaha s970 voices like they are. But I don't think it is possible to change Yamaha's voices from it.
My AX-7 however, plays GM voices when I turn it on, and that's not really the sound I'm after...

Playing PSR s970 patches from a Roland AX-7 keytar

I was very happy the other day, because I succeeded in switching to different s970 patches only by making MIDI control messages/changes from my keytar AX-7. I followed some few easy steps from this video: https://youtu.be/LeHdKb7omY4 However, some new questions was immediately occur, and I would rea...

I've just downloaded the PDF copy of the Logic Pro X User Guide and searched for "bank." You will want to read the following pages for relevant information: 73 183 418 525 776 779 - 780 784 806 - 808 Note that in the screenshot you posted, the Bank Select values are given in the "Num...
