Re: Korg X5D Key Not Sounding

I opened my KORG up to try fix one key that hadn't worked. Hit it with contact cleaner. The next morning I woke up and found out the other key didn't work. Is that ALL the other keys don't work or just the one next to it? From what I have read it's more a matter of contact "wear" i.e the graphite ...

Re: Problems with MIDI connection

Thanks for the recommendation. I indeed have a 3€ USB MIDI cable. Is there anything cheaper than the MIDISPORT 2x2 with still acceptable quality? And anything special I need to consider concerning the MIDI cables? There is the MIDISPORT 1x1 which will also do the job and that is £22.95 https://www....

Re: RE: Sony mp3 Walkman (help?)

Yes you can but I am not sure how well it does the job. Part 1: How to Import CD and Rip CD with Audacity Audacity is a software program that offers you many capabilities, among them being importing data to CDs or ripping data from CDs. The following is how you go about the process of importing data...

Re: RE: Roland Juno 6 Chorus (help?)

Very nice bit of software that Chris and for just £20 too! By the way if anyone is ever wondering why these things time out in KONTAKT PLAYER it's to do with the way NI licensing works and is the reason why the full version of KONTAKT..with which this won't time out is so expensive. Vendors can eith...

Didn't know you had a 01/WFD Purcell? One of my favourite keyboards of all time :)

Re: Best EL. PIANOS & GUITARS ever with Yamaha MX !

DPD are good, never had any issues with them either. Worst experience was with DHL. Their own drivers are ok but the agency drivers they farm stuff out to are completely useless. If you in an out of "their" way place they just say they tried to delver but no one was home and they left a card. What a...

Re: Best EL. PIANOS & GUITARS ever with Yamaha MX !

It's definitely a bit of a lottery with delivery companies. Really though it's all down to the individual drivers. I have a great one from UPS who is not only on time but if I am not hear he comes back later! Also no problems with Hermes who I also use a lot to send stuff. Have heard horror stories ...

MacOS High Sierra Beta

Not sure if anyone else here is using this beta version of macOS High Sierra but thought I would share my experiences so far. By the way all my existing music apps and software work fine with the new OS and even my old Mackie Spike audio/Midi interface is working again after being knocked out by the...

Re: Has anyone tried Dr Zebra strings?

jagger do you use FastFret on your strings? It extends the life and tone. I have been using it for years. I think it costs around £7 but lasts ages. Might help with the longevity of those Elixir's ?

Great job and above all brings the AES to people's attention. Some lovely guitars in the range and I was not really aware of them until this thread.

I'm sounding like an Advert for Andertons now but their stock system works in real time so if it shows "in stock" it will be. ;) Have never had any problems with them.

Re: RE: Keyboard Protective Dust Cover

Not sure it makes a lot of difference as long as the material doesn't affect the keys in any way. Any keyboard covers I have used in the past have always been vinyl and no problems at all. These days I don't bother as they get a regular dusting 3 or 4 times a week and then there is always the vacuum...

Re: Best EL. PIANOS & GUITARS ever with Yamaha MX !

Ahh see what you mean. Hobgoblin is a great store but not really the one for keyboards. Last Dawsons I went to was not a great experience. Young staff who seemed not to know much about what they were selling and any store that is playing loud music when your trying to test an acoustic guitar is a bi...
