Re: Yamahasggeek

No probs Chris. We could probably reconstruct your site using the cached info on https://archive.org/web/ If you put your domain in there you will see cached versions of your site taken at various times. It's not a simple matter to download the whole site from there but we could do it bit by bit. I'...

Re: Update on migration to VBulletin

Seems like nothing is ever easy..... Ain't that the truth! Smoke and mirrors comes to mind. Still waiting on VB support...a 6hr turnaround apparently 8O Still to be fair Impex is not a VB product and is maintained by a third party, or was maintained because as far as I can see it's not been updated...

Update on migration to VBulletin

As you all know I am currently working on migrating the forum from phpbb to VBulletin and I must admit it is very slow going. The migration script 'impex' was written years ago and has not been updated for ages. To give you some idea, the latest version of phpbb it shows is 3.03 and we are currently...

Re: reface cp hands-on review

I think he's just become a bit of a curmudgeon in his old age. There is no denying he is an incredibly knowledgable chap but he is not exactly user friendly these days ;)

Re: Donations to help the cause :)

Just come across the first slight problem. The migration script cannot migrate passwords. To be fair I don't know of any that can no matter which platform is being migrated from/to. This means when you go to the forum you will be asked to reset your password. Not a massive thing I suppose and a pass...

Re: reface cp hands-on review

Yes that sort of sums up the type of response he is pretty well known for. If your expecting a sensible answer from him you'll be waiting a very long time!

Re: Donate to help the cause!

Any chance of making member's LOCATION visible again? It's SO useful when offering advice on appropriate sources for goods/services etc . . . Perhaps this can wait 'til after migration? parametric Can do that but of course it's always been voluntary so if people don't give their location it won't s...

Re: Donate to help the cause!

Just wanted to thank all those who donated to help us move to a new platform. We had a fantastic response and the goal was reached in just two days!

Will crack on with sorting out the migration and update everyone when we are ready to push the button.

Thanks again.

Re: Donations to help the cause :)

Looks like you are there now, which is great. Didn't take long. :) Yes indeed Derek. Incredible response from you guys. I'm just sorting the details now. There is a service that needs to run server side for the iOS app to work but I can go ahead with the forum migration now and sort that out later....

Many thanks John, that is so much appreciated. I have updated the donations meter at the top of the site to reflect where we are now :)

Re: New MX88BK Synth

I definitely think Yamaha could knock out VST versions of the SY77 and SY85 at least. Even if these were the presets and a bit of tweaking. Doesn't need to be as in-depth as the hardware. Also bear in mind that there simply aren't enough SY77's and SY85's out there for everyone to own even if every ...

Re: Donations to help the cause :)

Yeah that's for the donation Chris. We are nearly there now. Fantastic response from you guys :) As Derek mentioned, the size of your forum is not an issue for hackers. Most hacking these days is done to either use your site as a part of a network to launch DDOS attacks or as a place to stick thousa...
