Re: Sy.Factory is a MUST Have!

Your point is well made Daryl . . . . You'll not have seen me getting involved in this area simply because I never got involved in programming/writing software and indeed, wouldn't know where to start - but I have nothing but extreme admiration for those that can, and indeed DO . . . How Derek manag...

Any chance of making member's LOCATION visible again? It's SO useful when offering advice on appropriate sources for goods/services etc . . .

Perhaps this can wait 'til after migration?

Happy Days indeed . . . .

I didn't get to see Eric in the Flesh until the Cream Farewell Concert at the RAH in '68?

Re: Donations to help the cause :)

Certainly DOES work - just sent a small addition  GearSlutz site looks good and tidy . . . If Vbulletin will be less work for YOU then that has to be good - though I'll miss the "Look" of phpBB which I've grown accustomed to . . . . My own phpBB forum remains several editions behind ...

Re: New MX88BK Synth

I don't disagree with most of what you are saying, except, I DON'T believe that VSTis really devalue the hardware . . . HAVING the hardware will always be the Holy Grail - as there is much that CAN'T be done with the VSTI . . . ALL of the parameters are unlikely to be present in the virtual realisat...

Three Chords and a Lawsuit: A Brief History of Guitars and Trademarks

Guitarists here may well find this article EXTREMELY interesting . . . 8) The article is © Jeffrey Davidson - who runs the blog here: https://davidsontm.wordpress.com/2009/12/17/three-chords-and-a-lawsuit-a-brief-history-of-guitars-and-trademarks/#comment-1247 My interest was sparked having read Joh...

Re: A bit about SysEx (restored).

Thats a "Compendious Tome" for sure John (apologist to Douglas Adams  ) and very nearly a "Text Book"! Excellent work. Perhaps (in a somewhat light-hearted way) we might refer to SySex messages in future a "System Elusive Messages" - given the grief they seem to c...

Re: Midi message for changing bank - and some frustration

Its probably a good time to mention here that too many iterations of midi data via MIDI thru to additional devices CAN result in latency that may become troublesome. Although we're talking about light-speed, nothing is for nothing, and there WILL be SOME latency with the data travelling in and out o...

Wholeheartedly agree on that Saul. For those who don't "get" the "Dusty" Miller thing, (I didn't - once when the French Master called me that, at Secondary School) . . . It's all about the "Occupation" (Being a Miller - which I guess is how the name came about?) . . . T...

Re: Midi message for changing bank - and some frustration

Hi Outof, ticks are basically the midi "time" in a data sense . . . If you look at the "event list" for a track of your song, you'll see the various events have a TIME associated with them. MIDI is a serial system so events happen in order. THEORETICALLY - a "Chord" isn...

The world CAN be a surprisingly small place . . . Seeing Sysex's Aircraft references, reminded me that in my former (photographic) life I worked at The rocket propulsion Establishment, Westcot, BUCKS. It was then MINTECH. We had a remote Hanger there that contained a Japanese OKA . . . . Also there ...
