New KORG DS-8 page

Unread post by Sealed » Mon May 03, 2004 8:00 pm

Hi,

I made a new KORG DS-8 page. DS-8 is an FM synthesizer with a Virtual Analog editing interface. It uses YAMAHA FB-01's synthesis engine.

The page includes:

* DS-8 information and links
* DS-8 editor for Emagic SoundDiver
* Sound Examples

And there are pages for YAMAHA SY/TG series.
Please visit my site and tell me what you think.

Thanks,
Sealed

Yes, the interface looks different, but it uses YAMAHA's chip. It's basically a version of YAMAHA FB-01 and DX21 etc.

It's just 10kg. Relatively light-weighted compared to other 80s synths.

I like its design and the blue LCD. Looks like a little brother of the big KORG DSS-1 sampler. Also the keys are not bad with good aftertouch.

I have learnt lately that it was a FM synth and based on a Yamaha 4 op chip. But soundbank is really different and ergonomy too. Sliders and joystick make it played with an analog feeling for sounding incredibly crazywithout head aches, and there some effects included.
Moreover it's a great master keyboard.
It's pityfull that it's a so underated keyboard.
