as this was just for the wave format and synths like ensoniq and others do have 100 +/- cents

i put in the notes that you would have to set the sy99 to the nearest division thanks for the sy99 fine pitch info i will write it in the info package

but the rom only contains 512 sample single cycle waves for its lowest wavetable

because it is down sampling the sy99 will read out the 512 file slower for the rest the sy99 is very smooth and even there own single cycle waves are only 5 waves for a multisample

i do others from f0 which is 2048 +23c

also on the sy99 there are only 100 sample locations the more samples you use per keymap will be less keymaps

i did a single cycle set for the sy85 and only had one sample at f6 the sy85 was still able to give a full keyboard notation from this one sample which meant i could have 64 new keymaps

being single cycles and that they are static they follow pitch very well with one sample

synths like the jd800 d50 only use 1 pcm sample for the whole keyboard

im doing a wavetable set of all the waves from the cz1 and going through the window functions and when morphing from one wave to the other via the window functions as single cycle sets these will be from f0

I wish I had a SY99 to try this...

Is there any way to convert this for a TG500 (as I do have a TG500 with 1 MB sample RAM)?

yes they are sy format so they should work in sy85 tg500 and the sy99

and when the custom cards are completed they should be able to use them in tg55 and sy77

Thanks, I guess you have converted the samples to sample dump standard (SDS) and repackaged them into a midi file?
I will try them as soon as I find time for it.

What software is there to convert from SY99 disk file format to SDS?

I'm not sure what you mean by 'sy format', I don't think there is a single sy format, don't the SY85 and SY77/99 use different disk file formats?

In any case the TG500 doesn't have a disk drive so the only way to load samples is via MIDI SDS (and hopefully soon via the Sector101 Wavecards).

they all use the sy format wave file

in awavestudio you can dump the sy format wave via sds
a keymap is made of sy format waves in the sy85 or sy99 you can load them as .w01/w02/w03................ or you can sample dump them

you then assign them to a instrument keymap this is the sound you access when choosing to program a patch

the midi file must be a all dump from the sy99 via midi this will have all the keymaps and sy format samples

awave studio can read a sy format file it can then save the samples to sy format it cant do the keymaps though and it cant write a sy format disk

it can also read tx16w disks both yamaha format and typhoon format files same again only the samples can be saved it will load the keymaps but cant save to the keymap only to sy format samples

there are lots of public domain typhoon and tx16w disks which can give a massive library to the sy99 and sy85 tg500

the k3 waves are tiny you will fill a bank up on the tg500 with just 512k

only 64 sample slots on the sy85 tg500 theirs 150 samples all together so your going to have to create 3 banks

and you can do a lot with 1mb here are some examples on a t2ex with my pcm
