TYROS3 Expands!
Posted by saul on Thursday, August 06 @ 09:43:37 BST (349 reads)
Great news for Yamaha Tyros3 owners as Yamaha announces the imminent launch of exciting new “Premium Content” for this popular instrument…
Yamaha’s R&D team have been busy working on a whole bunch of new sounds, samples, styles and much more to create a series of expansion downloads which will shortly be available to Tyros3 owners.
The first of these is a Super Articulation 2 Trombone voice. This utilizes the same ground-breaking SA2 technology first seen in the Tyros3’s in-built Saxophone, Trumpet, Clarinet, Harmonica and Irish Pipe voices. The instrument intuitively adds the natural bends, glides, slides and glissandos that you would hear when listening to a real trombonist’s performance – for a sound that is simply unbelievably real. Suitable for many styles of music, from the gorgeous jazz sounds of Don Lusher and George Chisholm, through to marching band repertoire, this new SA2 Trombone voice will undoubtedly prove to be a useful and valuable addition to your Tyros3 tone palette. The voice comes complete with its own “Mini Regi-Stick” set of registration memories, allowing for instant setup in a variety of musical moods. You also get a fantastic demonstration performance which showcases the versatility of this great new voice.

Yamaha's popular GB1 Grand Piano
just keeps on producing all the right notes! It was voted the UK's
'best acoustic piano' by MIA (Music Industries Association) members at
their recent prestigious annual awards ceremony.
This
accolade is one of the most highly prized honours in the musical
instrument industry and coincides with Yamaha’s announcement of an
updated version of the GB1 featuring a 'soft-fall' lid and a price
reduction from £8199 to £7599. The GB1 instrument now looks set to
become one of the UK's most popular and best selling models, the 'best
acoustic piano' title no doubt significantly boosting it's chances.
Given
its highly compact dimensions and a surprisingly affordable price tag
of £7599, the GB1 offers uncompromising levels of musical performance
and further demonstrates Yamaha's unique ability to create instruments
that retain exceptional sound quality thanks to a no-compromise
approach to materials and levels of craftsmanship. A true Yamaha Grand
Piano in all respects, created for discerning and demanding customers
on smaller budgets in smaller spaces.

Yamaha SY77/SY99 Cheater's Guide and Cookbook Available Again
Posted by saul on Saturday, November 08 @ 12:58:27 GMT (518 reads)
I have been looking for a copy of this out of print book for quite some time (loaned mine to somebody years ago, never to be seen again). While following up on some searches I found links for the publisher and they are located only 30 miles from me! After explaining that I felt there was still some interest in the SY book they made the SY users an offer. There are no print copies available from them, but they still have the manuscript and are willing to make it available as a downloadable .pdf @ $35.00 per download if they can find at least 10 people interested in purchasing it. And SY99 users can also benefit as everything in the book applies to the SY99 as well. They will have to do high resolution scans and get everything in the .pdf format.
Here is the link for info on the SY77 book, click on the table of contents link once you get there to find out what all is in this 354 page book. Clyde

Recording Made Simple - Recordings Made by You!
Posted by saul on Sunday, November 02 @ 08:20:30 GMT (420 reads)

Ever
fancied your hand at recording but never quite took the plunge for what
ever reason? Maybe you didn’t know how, or you didn’t have the right
gear, or you simply thought you weren’t good enough to worry about
making a recording of yourself.
Whether you’re starting
out on the path to become a Grammy award winning producer, recording a
song as a gift for someone special, or simply recording a voice over
for a home video or a podcast, there is absolutely no reason in this
day and age to not at least give recording a go - just like learning to
play an instrument, making your own recordings is great fun. One things
for sure - every note you play, every word you sing, every laugh you
create is lost forever ........... if you don’t record it!
With
the introduction of AUDIOGRAM 3 and AUDIOGRAM 6 recording systems,
Yamaha have created a simple, understandable and affordable solution
for turning any USB equipped desktop or laptop computer into a powerful
yet intuitive tool for recording and editing audio. Sold as a
complete kit the AUDIOGRAM 3 and AUDIOGRAM 6 each bundle together a
hardware USB interface that adds a variety of useful audio inputs and
outputs to your computer, CUBASE AI4 software for recording audio and
producing music, and a USB cable for connecting the audio interface.

Exclusive UK Product Launch of new Yamaha L-Series guitar at Chappell of Bond Street store on 6th November 2008

Described
as the Jimi Hendrix of the acoustic guitar, Antonio Forcione is one of
the most charismatic performers to come out of Europe in recent years.
Breaking the mould across most conventional popular guitar styles, be
it Jazz, Spanish, African, Brazilian or Improvised music, his virtuoso
playing technique and complete mastery of the instrument reaches a
level of dynamic expression and versatility few can match.
Yamaha’s latest L-Series acoustics are the perfect partner for
Antonio’s stunning performance with the latest ART pickup systems
giving a more natural, dynamic and expressive response than any other
pickup system and the ARE pre-aged top lending the guitar a richer,
more complex tone while the L-Series exclusive construction features
give the stability and playability to match the most demanding of
performances.
Involved in the development process of the guitars with Yamaha’s
R&D team, Antonio was the first UK player to take delivery of a new
L-Series guitar and is now teaming up with Chappell of Bond Street, the
first UK dealer to offer the new L-Series for sale, at an exclusive
launch event on November 6th, showcasing these stunning guitars and
giving players the chance to get hands-on with a range of models.

Yamaha new DGX Portable Grands

Yamaha debuts new DGX Portable Grands at the London International Music Show 2008

 |
 |
| |
|
As part of Yamaha’s continuing goal to make great
instruments even more accessible to hobby musicians, a new keyboard
concept, the DGX Portable Grand series, was introduced in 2002. These
instruments featured many of the musical and tuition features of
Yamaha’s successful portable keyboard range, together with an extended
76 or 88-note keyboard, allowing piano-style performance at a much
lower price point. The DGX concept was further refined with the
introduction of the DGX620 in 2006, which featured for the first time a
fully weighted Graded Hammer action keyboard, giving the performer true
acoustic piano feel and response. The DGX620 proved to be a big hit
with consumers and trade alike, earning high praise for its technology
and design, and winning the CES Innovation 2007 Award in the USA, and
the Japanese Good Design Award. Now Yamaha goes one stage further with
the introduction of the new DGX630, shown for the first time to the UK
public at the recent London International Music Show.
